Charlie Clay Minton, 66, of West Jefferson, died Thursday evening, June 25, at Mountain Home VA Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee. He was born in Watauga County, April 13, 1915, to Isaac Newton and Anor Isaac Minton. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Faw Minton, a step-son, a step-daughter, a brother, two sisters, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services were conducted Sunday, June 28, at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel in Jefferson, with Reverend Earl Sexton and Elder Carl Hart officiating. Burial with military honors, was in Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens.

Ashelawn Memorial Chapel and Gardens Inc. in Jefferson was in charge of the arrangements.
