Mrs. Waldrep was a Colbert County native who lived most of her life in the Cherokee community, which she loved. She was born in Cherokee and reared her family of four children there. All who knew her, adored her.In her later years, she moved to the Shoals area, but always enjoyed "going home" to Cherokee. She was a Christian lady and a member of Mhoontown Methodist Church. She always said, "God will take me when my time comes." Mrs. Waldrep will have a very good Christmas rejoicing with her loved ones who have gone before her. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Waldrep; and son, David Waldrep. Survivors include her sons, Don Waldrep and wife, Jo Anne, of Cherokee, Leonard Waldrep and wife, Pat, of Florence; daughter, Yvonne Waldrep and husband, Kenneth, of Tuscumbia; brother, Wilmer Collum, of Florence; grandchildren, Donnette Putman and husband, Greg, Cindi Waldrep, Mona Key and husband, David, Ladonice Waldrep, Lyndell Waldrep and wife, Heather, Valerie Bishop, Bill South and wife, Claire, Daniel Waldrep, Kenny Waldrep and wife, Patricia, Tim Waldrep, Lori Beasley and husband, Alan; great-grandchildren, Chandler South, Gist Key, Will Waldrep, Cara Waldrep, Kyle Waldrep, Dianna Beasley, Preston Beasley and Zachery Waldrep; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Jackie Borden, William Lawrence Collum, Robert Hester, Charles Ray Waldrep, Greg Waldrep, Kenny Waldrep, Michael Joe Waldrep and Tim Waldrep.
