Charles Wayne Hays was the son of the late Morgan Jefferson and Cora Lee Howell Hays and was born in Warren County Kentucky. He was married to Ada Lavaughn Jaggers Hays (who went by Lavaughn) and they had two daughters, Beverly Ann Hays and Marcia Lynne Hays. At the time of his death he resided in Munfordville, KY. He died on Saturday, December 27, 2003 at the University of Louisville Hospital at the age of 75. He was retired from the Sunbeam Bread Company and was a former electrician. He and his wife were former owners of the Play Pen Day Care Center in Munfordville KY. Charles was the former Mayor of Munfordville for ten years. He was a member of Our Lady Of the Caves Catholic Church in Horse Cave, KY.
