Since 1917 LeRoy worked for the New York Central & Hudson Steam RailRoad Company as a "Car Inspector" at the Malone, New York depot. Roy retired in 1952.
His most enjoyable part-time occupation (1953-1965) was while travelling with the seasonal race-horse circuit between Florida and New York - for his employer: Demo Stables of Malone (Franklin county), New York.
He lived in a small cabin on the shore of Lake Placid where he also owned several hound dog companions.
