Death Of Mrs. Conger
The Wife of the Ex-Senator Passes Away After a Long Illness
Mrs. Omar D. Conger, the wife of ex-Senator Conger of Michigan, died this morning at her residence, 1321 M Street. The deceased had been in failing health for some time and her death was not unexpected. The news, however, will come to the large circle of friends and acquaintances who knew and loved the deceased with the sense of a personal loss. Mrs. Conger was kind, benevolent and Christian woman and wherever she went she diffused happiness. She had a motherly heart and during her long residence in this city she had exerted an influence which rarely falls to the lot of a woman. She was in an especial sense a companion to her husband, not only during his long public service in the House and Senate, but after he retired from public life. Their married life extended over a period of twenty years, all of which was practically spent in this city. When they were married Mr. Conger was a member of the House of Representatives and he afterward represented his state on the floor of the Senate. Mrs. Conger was twice married. Her first husband was Mr. Selby, who was one of the early settlers in St. Paul, Minnesota. Her father was Van R. Humphrey, who for a number of years was a circuit judge in northern Ohio.

The arrangements for the funeral will not be completed until the arrival in the city of the brother of the deceased, J.K. Humphrey of St. Paul. It has been decided that the interment will be made in Cleveland, Ohio, where the mother and father of Mrs. Conger are buried.
