Due to the excessive use of the name "Francis" in the Baltazor clan, he was called Exir - short for Xavier. When he left home as a young man he began doing business under the name of Exir F. Baltzor and was told much later by family that he had left an "a" out of his last name. He decided it would be too much trouble to correct so continued using it the rest of his life. As Exire Baltzor he married Lucy Webb 13 June 1890 in Caldwell, Ada County, Idaho Territory. As Exire F. Baltzor he married Jennie Star 24 June 1930 in Silver City, Owyhee County, Idaho
