Services were held at the Christian Church with Rev. B.F. Stallings, pastor, officiating. The Seymour Schools were dismissed through respect of her husband, president of the school board. Students of the public school marched to the chuch in a body, and with a multitude of other friends, the church was filled and a crowd was on the lawn. The services were touching. It was remembered how Mr. Francis had been kind and sympathetic to others into whose lives such sorrow has come.
She was born at McLead, Missouri. She moved to Baylor County, Texas in 1879 with her parents. She was united in marriage to W.H. Francis. To this union were born two children - Miss Ruby, now a grown lady and Inez, eight years; two step-children survive - Mrs. E.M. Francis and Mrs. Pearl King; five brothers - A.F. Durham, Elmer Durham, Walter Durham, Louis Durham; one sister - Mrs. Henry Robinson. Mrs. Francis was buried beside her father and her mother is still living.
Mrs. Francis was converted and joined the church at the age of 16 years. She had lived a true Christian life and has exemplified her belief in her daily walk. We shall miss her, oh, how much we shall miss her, and it seems hard that she should be called away when we need her so much.
