Former Charles City man dies in Cincinnati

CHARLES CITY — Funeral services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church Tuesday at 9 a.m., with burial in Calvery Cemetery, for Ed Tynan, 62, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He died in Cincinnati, Ohio, Saturday. The American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct military rites at the graveside. The Hauser Funeral Home has charge of arangements.

A resident of Fort Lauderdale about 5 years, he was enroute to Detroit, Mich., on business when he was involved in an auto accident in Cincinnati, Aug. 5. Two days after the accident, he suffered a stroke, and had been hospitalized.

Born Aug. 14, 1898, in Riverton Township, Floyd County, Ambrose Edward Tynan was the son of John and Margaret Butler Tynan. For many years he was a stock clerk in the Timken Axle Co., Detroit, Mich. He retired in 1947. He was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by seven brothers and sisters: Winnifred Ryan, Los Gatos, Calif.; Margaret Knechtges, Minneapolis, Minn.; Rose Obermeier, Sunnyvale, Calif.; Josie T. Ryan, Mary Beckwith, John Tynan, Jim Tynan, all of Charles City.
