He was born on April 8, 1936, in Carbon, Texas, to W. V. and Vinnie (Lovell) Hurst. Jarrel was a pipeline welder.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Lori Hurst of Joshua; five grandchildren; brother, Harold Hurst of Proctor; and sister, Evangeline Owens of Hurst. He was preceded in death by one son, Jarrel Aubry Hurst, Jr., on August 6, 2012.
