David Harold Peters, of Bloomfield, NE., died Monday, August 20, 2012, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE. David, son Louis William "Louie" and Ella Helena Catherina (Koertje) Peters, was born March 25, 1938, at Bloomfield, NE.

David grew up in the Bloomfield, NE. community, where he attended and graduated from Bloomfield (NE.) High School in 1955. On June 3, 1961, he was married to Sharon Frahm at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield, NE. The couple was blessed with two children: Brenda and Suzanne. David lived his entire life in Bloomfield, NE., where he first worked at Al's Standard Service after graduating from high school, until he enlisted in the United States Army in 1958. David received his Honorable Discharge in 1960, and returned to Bloomfield to work for Bereuter Chevrolet until he started his own business, Dave's Auto Repair. In 1974, he built a new shop, and continued to do auto repair work until his death. David was an avid Chicago Cubs and Nebraska Husker fan.

David was a active member of First Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield, NE., where he served on many committees. He was a member of the Bloomfield (NE.) Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, was active with the Bloomfield (NE., Ruritans, and was also a member of the bowling league. David enjoyed gardening, lawncare, and attending his grandchildren's activities.

David is survived by: wife of 51 years, Sharon Peters of Bloomfield, Nebraska; daughters, Brenda (Dwain) Larson of Norfolk, Nebraska, and Suzanne (Gail) Cunningham of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Amanda Larson of Norfolk, Justin Cunningham of Bloomfield, and Dalton Cunningham of Bloomfield; and siblings, Vernel Nelson of Norfolk, Eunice Murray of Bloomfield, Alice Strom of Bloomfield, Daryle Peters of Bloomfield, Margaret Seagren of Wausa, Nebraska, Janet Hamilton of Hartington, Nebraska, and Judy Boyer of Hildreth, Nebraska.

David was preceded in death by: parents, Louie and Ella Peters; sister, Fern Huttmann; brother, Duane Peters; and parents-in-law, Walter and Esther Frahm.

Burial was in the Bloomfield City Cemetery, Bloomfield, NE.
