Delia Pate was born in Murphysboro on July 18, 1875, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George (Leatha) Zimmerman. Her siblings include Mrs. Ida Colyer of Denver, CO, Mrs. Maymie Levy of Murphysboro, and Frank Zimmerman of Cobden. Four sisters preceded her in death [Mary J Pate/Beaver; Amelia Bilderback; Alice Launius, and Bertha].
She married Oliver Pate on July 16, 1893. He died on April 16, 1944. Upon Mr. Pate's death, Mrs. Pate resided with her daughter, Mrs. Charlie Kelley in Muscatine, Iowa. She also had two sons, Leo of Los Angeles, CA and Herman of Anna, and a daughter, Edith, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Pate was a member of the Pate Chapel church for many years.
She died at the age of 76 in Muscatine, Iowa on Tuesday, January 8, 1953. Her funeral service was held at the Meyer-Denny funeral home in Murphysboro. Rev. H. T. Rafnel officiated.
