Ansel P. Austin
Ansel P. Austin of No. 217 Miller street was born at Covert, N. Y., on July 26, 1846. He came to North Tonawanda from Interlaken in 1881. He enlisted in Company E, Ninth New York heavy artillery at Auburn. He was wounded in the defense of Washington on July 12, 1865. He was mustered out of the service at Washington, D. C., on August 15, 1865. Mr. Austin was in the battles of Petersburg, Cedar Creek and Richmond.
