Margaret's full name was Margaret Arine Nichols. Her father was W. Harvey Nichols and her mother was Malinda "Linnie" Blansett. She was born in Franklin County, Arkansas and died in Shawnee, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. She and John Calvin Karr married on November 20, 1880 in Franklin County, Arkansas. They had nine children: Jennie; Edith; Linnie; Gertie; James Arnold; Otto J.; Hattie; Elvis B.; and Orville J. Karr.
