George W. Confer, 76, died at 8:18 a.m. Tuesday at his home in Muir after a long illness.
He was born February 23, 1875, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Confer, and had been a resident of Muir for the last 30 years. He was married in 1899 to Myra Baxter.
Mrs. Confer died June 7, 1948.
He is survived by one son, Ross, of Muir and one daughter, Mrs. Hope Huested, of Lansing. A son, Raymond, died in infancy. Three grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. A brother, Roy, lives in Gobles, Mi.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Shaw-Rivett funeral home in Muir. The Rev. Delos McKown of the Muir Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
