Alcinda Fetty Bright was the daughter of Thomas B. Fetty and Nancy Mason Fetty, born in what was then called District 37, Monongalia, West Virginia.
She married Benjamin Eastburn, who lived on a nearby farm.
Sadly, it seems that Benjamin died. It is unknown how he died, or where he is buried, but before their child was born, she married again and was listed as a widow.
She was married May 5, 1858 to William Thomas Bright, then a 60 year old widower. She and William had two more children, Julia Ann Elizabeth and William McClellen Elcana Bright.
She died only eight years later, a victim of Tuberculosis.
William wrote affectionately about her in his letter to his brother, Lorenzo, dated Jimtown, May 30th 1868. In this letter he tells of her death and about their two children, and of Lucinda's daughter, Sarah Jane "Laura" Eastburn.
Fetty family information states that Alcinda is buried in Bakers or Barker's Cemetery #1 which seems to be this cemetery. It was described as being in Cheat Neck. It seems logical as other family members are buried here.
Further information may come to light, but here we memorialize her life. I wish to thank JMC for the information that this is the cemetery we sought.
