Mr. Hayden moved to Baylor County in 1897 and while a boy, attended school in the Plainview community.
He was a veteran of the Spanish American War. He worked in South America for 20 years. He moved back to Seymour in 1921.
Charles Hayden married Mrs. Tennie Jones on 10 January 1927 at Seymour, Texas. No children were born to this union. The couple bought the old Sam Harvey place on the south edge of Seymour.
Survived by his wife; three step-daughters - Mrs. A.E. Nunn, Mrs. Claud Wilkins, Mrs. L.D. Wilkinson; two brothers - Walter and L.Z. Hayde.
Mr. Hayden was an honest, hard-working man. He spent his time attending to his affairs with no criticism of his fellow man. He has many good friends in Seymour to mourn his death.
