Roy Luther George, age 75, of Dardanelle, died Sunday, August 19, 2012, at River Valley Regional Center in Dardanelle.

He was born August 2, 1937, in Russellville to James Autry and Ivory Irene Hatfield George.

He was a retired salesman for Unisource Paper Company and in later years a cattle farmer, a member of Ard Church of Christ, former member of the NFLCC [National Fishing Lures Collectors Club], Cattlemen's Association and the Coon Hunters Association. He was an avid fisherman, coon hunter, and artificial fishing lure collector.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Blake George; four sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Jernigan George; one son and daughter-in-law, James Edward and Rhonda George of Dardanelle; two daughters and one son-in-law, Rhonda Lynn George of Eagle River, Alaska, and Kelley and Thara Honghiran of Russellville, ten grandchildren, Alexa George, Hailee George, Joshua George and wife Tiffany, Gracie Anderson, Ivory Anderson, George Wright and wife Christina, Mallory Berry and husband Alec, Collin George, Mary-Kate Honghiran and Madelyn Honghiran; two Great-Grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

The service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Shinn Funeral Chapel, officiated by Jim Miller.

Burial will be in Ard Cemetery, near Dardanelle.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening, at the funeral home.
