Mrs. Proffitt had been ill for the past four months. She was the daughter of the late John Thomas and the late Mrs Katherine Mitchell Thomas.Her husband was the late Perry Proffitt.
Besides her son,Monroe County Jailer Homer Proffitt,she is survived by five daughters,Mrs. Pearl Marrs,Nashville,Ind.,Mrs.Maud Denham,Mrs. Vella Murry and Mrs. Flossie Turner,all of Tompkinsville,and Mrs. Dossie Yokley,of Albany.
She is also survived by a brother,Jim Thomas,of Tompkinsville;two half-sisters,Mrs. Lottie Sims,of Auburn,and Mrs. Lucille Condra,of Indianapolis,Ind.,and her stepmother,Mrs Ida Thomas, of Auburn.
