Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 14, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Ken McMeans, pastor of College Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
He was born on August 29, 1927 in Martin County, Texas and married Billie Ruth Bollinger on May 22, 1948 in Knott, Texas.
Preston was the son of Dan and Ione Adams.
He grew up in the Knott Community and attended school at Flower Grove.
He worked for the T & P Railroad, the Missouri Pacific Railroad and then the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1989 after 37 years as a conductor. He had also farmed in the Knott Community.
He was a member of College Baptist Church and a member of the Men’s Open Door Sunday School Class.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Preston enjoyed fishing and working all of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Ruth Adams of Big Spring; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lynn and Andra Adams of Sweetwater, Michael Adams of Houston and Stanley and Sandra Adams of Crowley; two brothers, Bill Adams of Knott and Charles Adams of Sherman; two sisters, Betty Poitevint of Big Spring and Edna Cates of Merkel; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
