Mrs. Katie Zerphy, eighty-seven, wife of Adam E. Zerphy, East Petersburg, died at 12:40 p.m. today in the General Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Zerphy observed their 64th wedding anniversary Dec. 31, 1949. Born in Millersville, daughter of the late Christian and Annie Ostot Sheetz, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, East Petersburg, and was active in all its organizations. Besides her husband she is survived by these children, Mrs. Grace Metzger, city; Walter S. and Floyd S., both of East Petersburg; and Kathryn, wife of Harold Shuster, city; also ten grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, three half-sisters, Lillie, wife of Amos Enterline, Lancaster Junction; Edith, wife of I.H. Lupold; Miss Mary Andes, both of East Petersburg; a half-brother Fred Andres, East Petersburg; and a step-brother, Clayton Andes, Philadelphia. (Lancaster New Era - Dec 21, 1950)
