Mrs Elizabeth Dittmer, wife of Marx Dittmer, succumbed to a stroke of paralysis Saturday morning at 6 o'clock at her home in Walcott after having suffered an attack the night before. Mrs Dittmer, whose maiden name was Feuerbach, was an old settler of Scott county, and was one of the respected residents of Walcott. She was 63 years, 6 months and 21 days of age.
The deceased was born in Hessen, Darmstadt, Germany, Oct 4, 1844, and in 1853 came to America, living in Johnstown, Pa., for one year and one half, after which she moved to Walcott, where she has since resided. She was married to Marx Dittmer in 1863 and the family lived on a farm until eight years ago when the old couple retired.
Besides the husband, Marx Dittmer, the following children survive: Mrs Lena Wills of Hartley, Iowa; Henry Dittmer, Walcott; Lizzie Ihms, Walcott; John Dittmer, Walcott; Mrs Emma Harder of Nebr; George Dittmer of Walcott; Ferdinand Dittmer of Stockton; Mrs. Delia Broders of Stockton; Mrs. Agnes Riessen of Thessis, Iowa; and Leonard Dittmer of Walcott. The following brothers and sisters: Philip Feuerbach, Mrs Caroline Moeller and Henry Feuerbach.
