Louise Dahl, age 91, of Dawson, died on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson, MN. Visitation will be at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home on Monday, October 26, from 5-7 PM, with a closing prayer service at 7 PM. Funeral service will be at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, October 27, at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with Pastor Kendall Stelter and Pastor Lindsay Stolen officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery. Louise Olive (Hart) Dahl was born May 27, 1918, in a farm house near St. Leo, MN in Yellow Medicine County to John and Olive (Bell) Hart. She went to country school for eight years and then attended Canby High School. Louise was an active 4-H club member for several years, taking sewing, bread making, canning, poultry, and Dairy Heifers. She also enjoyed crafts and crocheting. She made over 100 baby and adult afghans and many, many quilts. On December 24, 1935, Louise Hart and Lloyd Dahl were married at a Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, SD. They lived and farmed in Garfield, Providence and Maxwell Townships, before moving into Dawson in 1988. For approximately 5 months every winter for 25 years, they went to Orangewood Shadows in Mesa, AZ where Louise was a regular on the "Ladies Pool Team" and they took 1st place in League play for many years. Lloyd and Louise had just celebrated 73 years of marriage last December. Louise was always active helping Lloyd with the farm work. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson and Dawson Senior Citizens. She died on Saturday October 24, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson, at the age of 91. She is survived by two daughters: Geraldyne Turner and husband, Marvin of Dawson and Joanne Nelson and husband, Larris of Canby; son-in-law, Jerome Bergeson and wife, Elaine of Dawson; 8 grandchildren: Cathy (Jim) Michels, Bruce (Diane) Bergeson, Connie (Terry) Anderson, Gary (Sandra) Nelson, Karen (Larry) Borstad, Chad Nelson, Craig (Christine) Nelson and Corey (Allison) Nelson; 25 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Harris (Marian) Dahl; and other family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lloyd on March 5, 2009; daughter, Darlene Bergeson on January 13, 1998; son-in-law, Paul G. Nelson on June 25, 1991; two brothers: Glenn and Lyle Hart; and one sister, Elenora in infancy.
