John B.'s parents, John D. Dischler and his wife-to-be (Mary Ruhland) and her parents emigrated from Germany to America in April 1872. They settled on a farm in Sections 29, 31 and 32 in Franklin Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin. A new house (located in Section 29) was purchased from Sears & Roebuck and built in 1900. The original frame house was still standing as of 2012.

Their son, John B. Dischler and his wife, Mary Brickl Dischler, bought the farm about 1909 and farmed until about 1947.

John B. Dischler and Mary Brickl were married January 22, 1908 at Plain, Wisconsin. They had eight children: Anne, Gerhard, Michael, Alma, Anthony, Marie, Paul and John.

In 1930, John B. and Mary took a trip to Canada with Simon and Barbara Blau Brickl to visit the Henry and Theresia Blau Frank family.

Abut 1947, John B. and Mary Brickl Dischler moved to the Village of Plain and their son Gerard and his wife Rose Brickl Dischler ran the farm until it was purchased by Albert and Genevieve Bindl Weidner in 1949.

John B.'s wife Mary died January 16, 1963. On October 29, 1964, John B. married a widow, Katherine Martens Bladl, at Plain.
