Miltonian, 7 Dec 1894, page 3:
Mr. Samuel Angstadt, well and favorably known to this community died at his home Thursday of last week from a stroke of apoplexy, received a short time previous. His age was about 52 years. He was born at Lewisburg and his father died when he was aged about ten.
Young in years, he came to Milton and was kindly cared for by his uncle, Mr. Joseph Angstadt, a highly respected citizen amongst us and when he had grown to manhood looked out for himself.
He was honest, straight forward and manly in all his relations. He taught school for some years and at his decease had been elected and served very acceptably as director of the public schools here. Two daughters survive him.
His funeral occurred on Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock and was largely attended by relatives and friends.
