James L. Gosser, a retired carpenter and a resident of Lyon County since 1906, died Saturday evening in his home in the Plymouth community.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel. They will be continued by Major Roy Mills, of the Salvation Army. Burial will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery west of Emporia.
Mr. Gosser was born Nov. 26th, 1898, in Geneva, Neb., the son of Harry D. and Harriett Dobson Gosser, and he was married to Viola May White on May 2nd, 1923, in Burlington. He is survived by his wife, of the home; three sons, Herbert, of Derby, James L. Jr., of Plymouth, and William L., of Rt. 5; six daughters, Mrs. Albert (Ethel) Knight, Hutchinson; Mrs. Clyde (Dorothy) Carpenter, Eugene, Ore.; Mrs. Robert (Rosetta) Clark, Cokato, Minn., Mrs. James (Nancy) Wyatt, 631 Wilson St.; Mrs. Lee (Jo Ann) Baysinger, Hartford, and Mrs. Karl (Patty) Vogts, Thunderbird Estates; two brothers, Richard, of Rt. 5, and Harry, of Osage City; one sister, Mrs. D.C. (Mattielen) Shown, 943 Grand St., 32 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
