Edgar P. Lund, 63, Former Falmouth Selectman, Is Dead

Falmouth -- Edgar P. Lund, 63, former town selectman died Wednesday night at his daughter's home, 22 Falmouth Road, after a long illness. His home is at White's Bridge, North Windham.

A retired transportation executive, Mr. Lund was in recent years a property assessment adviser of the State Bureau of Taxation. He was appointed to the post in 1959 after seven years as the town's only full-time selectman.

A native of Falmouth, he was born June 30, 1900 the son of Carl O. and Emilie Peterson Lund. He attended local schools and North Yarmouth Academy. He was a director of the Maine Municipal Association of Assessing Officers; a member of the Water Improvement
Commission; Falmouth Lions Club; Casco Lodge, AF & AM, Yarmouth; past noble grand of Presumpscot Lodge, IOOP, and a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church. Shortly after his retirement from Lund Transportation Co., he became a candidate for town office.


Funeral services will be held at 10am Sat. at Emmaus Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Blanchard Cemetery, Falmouth.
