DOD unknown. Some genealogists list her DOD the same as spouse John. D/O of Stephen Gates 1591-1662 and Ann Veare Gates 1603-1683. Arrived from England in 1638 at age 2.
Married John Maynard 15 Apr 1658 Massachusetts.

"My notes indicate Mary may have been a victim of the attack on Marlborough, MA., during the King Philip's War of 1675-1676.

Certain her husband, John Maynard, Jr., married (2) widow Sarah (Blandford) Keyes, and had Sarah, Lydia and Joseph by her per the Marlborough VR books. Sarah's first husband, Elias Keyes, may also have been a victim of that war.

King Philip's War of 1675-1676 is an almost forgotten US war despite the fact that it wiped out 1/3 of the outlying New England towns and villages. No one is quite sure how many died during this war, but it numbers in the thousands if you consider both sides. And, when the town is gone, many of the records disappear, and Marlborough is no different."
