William E Gavin, 67, of Lexington died at the Wadsworth Veterans Administration Hospital in Kansas. Burial will be in the Machpelah Cemetery. He was Born August 25, 1909 in Missouri City and the son of William E and Catherine Dorothy Schnieder Gavin. He was married to Louise Helm who died May 13, 1966. She had lived most of her life in Lexington. Surviving Mr. Gavin are one daughter, Mrs. Bette Emley of Richmond and one sister, Mrs. Mary A Gunn of Lakewood, Colo. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, the lexington VFW the Elks Club and the American Legion. Mr Gavin was an Army veteran of World War 2 in which he served as Captain Engineers.
