Graveside services for Maxwell K. Crandell, 59, will be Wednesday at 3:30 pm at Muir cemetery. Mr. Crandell who lived at 73710 Fulton, Armada the past four years died unexpectedly at his home Friday. He was born May 6, 1909 in Muir the son of John S. and L. Vale Burke Crandell. April 27, 1940, he was married in Kansas City, Mo., to Reta Day. By occupation he was a senior material handling engineer for Ford Motor Company vinyl operation at Mt. Clemens.

Surviving are his wife Reta; a son Sp 4 Stewart W. Crandell of Vietnam; daughter, Mona Ann Crandell at home; mother, Mrs. L. Vale Lockwood, Kansas City, Mo; three sisters, Mrs. C.L. Nichols of Lansing, Mrs. C.D. Vogelger of Kansas City, and Mrs. J.B. Baines of Hialeah, Fla.

Active in many lodges of Kansas City, he was a member of East Gate lodge 630 F & AM; Ararat Temple Shrine; past matron of Eastern Star Raytown chapter 95, East Gate Commandery 70, K. T.: East Gate chapter 136 R & AM. He was also active in the Boy Scout work for many years.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 am at Tiffany-Young funeral home at Armada. Rev. Edgar Smith of the Armada Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be at Muir cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Shrine Crippled Childrens hospital.
