LOVING--A funeral service for Erminio A. "Mini" Armendariz, 67, of South First Street, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Loving with Father Valentine Jankowski officiating. Interment will follow at Loving Cemetery. A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Armendariz died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Carlsbad Medcal Center. He was born in Loving on Nov. 23, 1934, to Angel M. and Vigilia Lucero Apodoca Armendariz. He was a lifelong resident of Loving and attended school there.
On May 17, 1953, he married Trinidad Dominguez. Mr. Armendariz worked 13 years for IMC and another 22 years for AMAX Corp. before his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Holy Name at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved hunting. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one brother, Henry Armendariz.
He is survived by his wife, Trinidad Armendariz; sons, Erminio A. Armendariz and wife, Patty of Piscataway, N.J., Eddie Armendariz and wife, Jane, of Carlsbad, Gerald D. Armendariz and wife, Missy, of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Kristopher Armendariz, of Loving; daughters, Debra Calderon and husband, Felix, and Dianna Quezada and husband, Loreto, of Loving; parents, Angel and Vigilia Armendariz, of Lakeview; brothers, Ernesto Armendariz, of Carlsbad, and Eloy Armendariz and wife, Mary Lou, Ervey Armendariz and wife, Carmen, and Ernie Armendariz and wife, Pam, of Albuquerque; sister, Elodia Gonzalez and husband, Ramon, of Loving; and 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
