George H. Pierce
George H. Pierce, 56, retired employee of the Southern railway shops, died at 5 o'clock this morning at his home, 824 south Stormont avenue, of a heart attack. He had been ill for several months.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Colvin Chapel. The service will be conducted by the Rev. John L. Magness, pastor of the Church of God.
Burial will be in Archer cemetery. The remains are at the Colvin & Son mortuary until the funeral hour, where friends may call.
Surviving are two brothers, Robert Pierce and Harrison Pierce, both of Princeton; two half-brothers, Charles Utley, Princeton and Elmer Pierce, Madison, Ill.; a half-sister, Mrs. Mary Gowans, Mt. Carmel, Ill.
Mr. Pierce was born southwest of Princeton on March 12, 1885, and was a lifelong resident of Princeton and Gibson county.
He was employed as boilermaker helper at the local Sothern shops for many years, and was a member of the boilermakers local No. 334. He attended the Church of God.
