Hannah,of Easton formerly of Roswell,Ga.died October 2 in St.Lukes Hospital in Bethlehem.Born in Bremen-Lesum,Germany,she was the daughter of the late Gerhard and Beate (Hashagen)Schmit.At the end of World War 11 she began working as a switchboard operator in Germany.She met and married an American soldier named Ruel S Waltz.He brought her to the United States as one of the first War Brides,the first such couples in Pennsylvania.They were together for 45 years until his death in 1991.After many years spent raising her family,and adjusting to many different assigements around the world,she was able to spend her recent years enjoying leisure travel and time with her children and grandchildren.She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bethlehem.Survivors:Children,Ruel Jr.of S.C.,Reginald of Ga.William of Fla.Steven and Maxine both of Roswell,Jane McAllister of Ga.Elizabeth Forney of Ga.and Ozanna Allen of Easton.her sisters; Marga-Louise von Eitzen of Bad Zwishenahn and Gisela Ehlers of Bremen-Lesum both of Germany,21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.She was predeceased by brothers Hermann and Bernhard Schmit.
