William Wilson Jr., 77, of Wichita Falls, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, in Wichita Falls.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 809 Harding St, with Dr. R.M. Castle, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Wells Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Mr. Wilson was a retired glass cutter for PPG Industries.

William Wilson Jr. was born to William and Mary (Johnson) Wilson, Nov. 22, 1031, in Paris, Texas.
He was a member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church.

William graduated from Gibbons High School in 1950 at which time he entered the armed services.

He served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953.

He was united in marriage to Betty J. Hicks on October 6, 1953 in Hugo, Okla. then they made Wichita Falls their home.

He was affiliated with Wells Funeral Home for a number of years. Mr. Wilson was a Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent for 22 years at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He served as adult teacher of Sunday school in the Progressive West Texas District Association.

He is a current member of Key West Lodge # 257 and served as Past Master.

Survivors include wife, Mrs. Betty Wilson; four daughters, Mae Nell Moffitt and Deidra Kay Brazier of Fort Worth, Rene Lynn Wilson and Julata Marie Brooks of Wichita Falls; one son, William Wilson III of Wichita Falls; seven grandchildren, Shameka Moffitt, Shanta Henderson, Michaela Brooks, Wremaine Wilson, Tremaine Willson, Marzae Mukoko, Pamela Mukoko, 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Ann Lockett (Willie) of Abilene, Texas; one stepsister, Alice Watkins (Kansas) and one brother, James Lee Wilson (Lesa) of Dallas, Texas.
A viewing will be held from 5 until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
