Eliza was the daughter of Susannah Drummond and William Robb. Her mother died giving birth in 1873, when Jane was only two years old.

She married Joseph "Jink" Jones April 15 1888 in Paragonah Utah. She and her sister Lydia shared their wedding day when Lydia married Hyrum Barton. Jinks father performed the ceremony. Jane and Jink had ten children.

Jane was an avid gardener, her garden being an inspiration to those who lived near her. She was a devoted home maker for her large family.
