Hazel Bertha Henningsen, the daughter of Jerry and Nora (Linkletter) Glissmann, was born July 23, 1920 at Walnut, IA and died August 14, 2012 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, IA at the age of 92 years and 22 days.

Hazel attended school at Walnut through the tenth grade and then graduated from Lewis High School with the class of 1937. On December 14, 1938 she was united in marriage to Wilbert Henningsen at the parsonage in Walnut. They lived in several different places before purchasing the family farm East of Oakland. They moved to Walnut in 1975. Hazel lived in Walnut until the time of her death.

Hazel was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ in Walnut. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, dancing, playing cards and traveling. She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Wilbert; her parents; her sisters Ethel Wood and husband Eugene and Jeraldine Karstens; and her brother-in-law Clifford Beckendorf.
