Marie Crites, age 88, of Ellettsville, formerly of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia, died Thursday morning at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born June 8, 1924 in Brown County, she was the daughter of Leroy and Cora Mae (Eaglen) Mullis.
Marie retired as a sales associate for Sears-Roebuck & Company in Atlanta, after 11 years of service. She was a devoted housewife and loving mother and was loved by everyone she knew, as well. She was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
She is survived by one son, Steven W. Crites, of Ellettsville; one daughter, Marian Elaine Crites, of Leige, Belgium; two grandchildren, Nancy and Christopher; three great-granddaughters, Olivia, Chloe and Lisa; many nieces and nephews; and four cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 62 years, William Levi Crites, on June 14, 2012; two sisters, Mary Magdaline Pedro and Alta Lorraine Mullis, and two brothers, Jackie Louis Mullis and Edward L. Mullis.
There will be no services or visitation. Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
