JONATHAN HOMER DARLING, 83, a life-long resident of Richland County, died last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Minnie Jones, Mansfield RD 2, following an illness of a year.

He was born in Worthington Township, January 18, 1867, the son of John M. and Mary Darling, and lived in this county all his life. He married Sarah A. Spohn November 23, 1889.

Mr. Darling was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Perrysville.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Jones, with whom he made his home, Mrs. Eda Schrack, Mrs. Fred Thierlein, Mrs. Emma Fry, Mrs. Hazel Shoup and Mrs. Cecil Brokaw, all of Mansfield; two sons, S.O. Darling and Kenneth Darling, both of Mansfield; four sisters, Mrs. Alice Mengert of near Lucas, Mrs. Mattie Bowman of near Mansfield, Mrs. Millie Oakes of Loudonville and Mrs. Elsie Schrader of Perrysville; 30 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

Rev. George Schrack of Perrysville will conduct services at the Wappner Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Monroe Township. Friends may call at the funeral home starting Thursday evening.
