Irene Elizabeth (Stearns) Grosswiler, March 24, 1925-July 15, 2012

Irene Elizabeth (Stearns) Grosswiler, age 87, of Collins, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, in Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.

She was born on March 24, 1925, in Weston, Ohio, to Elmer and Esther (Kidd) Stearns. She was a graduate of Liberty High School in Rudolph, Ohio, and St. Vincent School of Nursing in Toledo.

She lived in Collins most of her life and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed embroidering, sewing, playing cards, reading, traveling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Grosswiler; and brothers, Leroy Stearns and Ivan Stearns.

Visitation is at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, July 20, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
