Author. He wrote over 30 books, the most famous being "Lad: A Dog." This novel told of the legendary collie and the others who lived with him and wife Anice at Sunnybank (located in Wayne, New Jersey). His "Lad" series came out first as magazine articles. These were popular with adults and children alike, leading to the books. There is a state park at the site of Sunnybank where the graves of some of the dogs in his books can still be seen.
