Harriett graduated from Jamestown High School in 1920 and also attended Jamestown Business College. Before beginning a family she worked for a while in the legal office of Wheeler & Bootey in Jamestown.
She married Milton W. Anderson and they had three children:
Robert Wesley Anderson, born Jan 7, 1927
Eleanor Jean Anderson, born Nov 28, 1929
Dorothy Jane Anderson, stillborn on Jul 20, 1936
They lived on a farm outside Falconer on the Hartson road for many years, where Milton, later together with Robert, had a small farm. They moved to Falconer around 1960 and lived at 119 N. Work St. until 1981, when Milton passed away.
Harriett attended the First Baptist Church in Falconer.
