Osmond G. Accola, son of Christian and Nellie Accola was born October 28, 1899, in Illinois. He came to the Coon Rapids area as a young man where he farmed and later was a construction worker.
He has been a resident in the retirement apartments for several years. He has been in failing health for about two years. He died at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City on Monday, Sept. 18 at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 20 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, and a sister, Myrta Nelson.
Survivors include three children, Osmond, Howard and Phyllis, all of Coon Rapids; four grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Accola of Lombard, Ill. and Kenneth Accola of Berwyn, Ill; two sisters, Mrs. Genevra Muchlebach, of Mexico, Mo., and Mrs. Arthur (Leona) Wehner of Hays, Kansas.

Funeral services were held last Thursday, Sept. 21 at 10:30 a.m. from the Ohde Funeral Home for Osmond G. Accola, 78, who died Monday, Sept. 18 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Rev. Alfred A. Rau of the United Methodist Church was the officiating minister and Miss Lula Garnes, organist. Vocalists were Mrs. Willard Ritchie and Mrs. Lester Jorgensen.
Casketbearers were DeLane Blanchard, Fred Long, Glen Toyne, George Esdohr, Jay Scott and Alva Palmer.
