Charles C Barrett was born in the town of Hinsdale, Berkshire County, Mass on October 14,1814 making him 98 years old on Monday. Mr Barrett is in fairly good health and able to be about town nearly every day. He has five children, Mrs Elizabeth Marsh and Mrs E. J. Casler of Parish with whom he lives, Charles W. Barrett of North Dakota, Mrs Alice C Pennock of Canton and H.O. Barrett of Illion. He lived in the locality where he was born until 25 years old, afterwards going to Montgomery county for a time and then to Jefferson County. Thirty-six years ago he came to Parish where he has lived since. He worked at shoemaking for seventy--five years. He was for a number of years Town Clerk for the Town of Parish and a life-long Democract.
