R. A. (Rollie) Peak Died Thursday Night

R. A. (Rolle) Peak, 71, longtime resident of R. R. 2, Girard, died Thursday night in the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. He had been in ill health the past year and hospitalized one week.

Mr. Peak was born April 28, 1893, near Brazilton. He was married to Ada M. Brazil, May 14, 1918 in Greenbush. He had been employed as a grader operator for the Crawford county highway department the past 30 years. He was a veteran of World War I.

Membership was held in St. Michael's Catholic Church and in the George C. Brown Post No. 26 of The American Legion.

Survivors include the widow of the home; five sons, Paul Peak of Hominy, Okla., Charles Peak of Pittsburg, and Bill Peak, Loyd Peak and Jim Peak, all of Girard; four daughters, Mrs. Leonard Lallemand, Mrs. Richard Senecaut and Miss Pat Peak of Girard, and Mrs. Earl Baldwin of Coffeyville; one brother, Leonard Peak of Raytown, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Lucille Howell, Visalia, Calif.; 42 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 in St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father William A. Wheeler in charge. A family rosary was said at 7:30 pm. Saturday at the W. D. Smith Funeral home and a parish rosary was said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Interment was in the Girard Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Willard Peak, Dave Peak, Sr., B. M. Peak, James Cavanaugh, W. J. Fox and W. T. Niggemann.
