WEST DECATUR — Ottis L. Williams, 88, well-known resident of Summit Hill, Morrisdale R.D., died at the Nile Shimmel home in West Decatur yesterday at 5:30 p.m. following a lingering illness.
The deceased was born in Graham Township January 29, 1865, a son of the late Wilson and Mary Ellen Hummel Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Jenny C. Smeal, in January, 1944.
He is survived by four daughters and a son, Mrs. Mae Shimmel of West Decatur; Mrs. Davey Kyler of Summit Hill; Mrs. Hazel McClaren of Morgan Run; Mrs. Jean Rhone of Bloomfield, N. J., and Earl William of Summit Hill; two brothers, Cyrus and Walter of Summit Hill, and 32 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Summit Hill E.U.B. Church Sunday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Thomas O. Fuss officiating and Rev. Homer Smith assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Nile Shimmel home in West Decatur from 7 p. m. today until noon Sunday, when the body will be taken to the Summit Hill church, of which he was a charter member.
