Mother was tired and weary,
And longed for her time to come;
When she would be with Jesus,
And rest in her eternal home.
Tho' her chair stands there empty,
And we miss her gentle way;
We would not disturb her slumber,
Nor ask that God extend her stay.
For she is dwelling with the angels,
And with father, who has gone before;
And she is now beckoning us to meet her,
On that far-off peaceful shore.
