Ben F. Cowley, 79, of Amarillo died Sunday, June 29, 2003.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Mark Zimmerman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery of Panhandle by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Mr. Cowley was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Rule and had been an Amarillo resident for 35 years. He was a retired contractor. He married Mary June Held on Jan. 23, 1948, in Amarillo.

He was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church in Amarillo and Masonic Lodge No. 1009 in Dumas. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a devoted husband, father and was a family man.

He was preceded in death by a son; his parents; and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bob Cowley and Bill Cowley, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Madell Garrett of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
