Thomas E. Rankin
MILES CITY, MT. ---- Thomas E. Rankin, 94, of Miles City, died Tuesday at the Holy Rosary Hospital.
He was born Sept. 22, 1876 in Grant City, MO., the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Rankin.
He attended Normal School in Maryville, MO., and taught for two years in Grant City.
He managed a general merchandise store in Hatfield, MO.
In 1908 he married Alma Burkett in Eagleville, MO.
From there, they moved to Miles City in 1912.
He worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker for the J. E. Graves Furniture Store.
He retired in 1955 due to a heart attack.
He was a member of the carpenters union since 1912.
Survivors include his widow, a sister Mrs. Cora Hyle of Grant City, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Graves Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leslie Payne officiating.
Burial will be in the Custer County Cemetery, Miles City, MT.
