Rufus T. Blanchard, 83, of 1622 Woodland Ave., a former resident of Guilford County, died Monday, Nov. 13, 1995, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Mr. Blanchard was the husband of the late Christine Brady Sandidge Blanchard. He was born in Alamance County to the late Lacy C. and Sallie Aldridge Blanchard and was a retired hosiery executive, former owner of the Greensboro Patriot and Greensboro Yankee Baseball Club and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at McCray Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Wallis Smith, pastor of Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. Jack Fogleman, retired Methodist minister, officiating. He is survived by a brother, Aubrey G. Blancahrd of Burlington and a sister, Mrs. Pauline B. Teague of Greensboro.
