Mrs. Barnes was born December 22, 1893 in Galien, Michigan, the daughter of Lorenzo and Amy (Bryant) Kizer. She married Arthur B. Barnes on October 23, 1916 in Lewistown, Montana. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1962. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Auburn United Methodist Church in Auburn.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. George (Prudence) Clemens and Mrs. Edward Jr. (Lucy) Cousin, both of Auburn, and Mrs. Harold (Louise) Purdom of Divernon; one son, Arnold (wife, Ruby) Barnes of Bolingbrook; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Hattie Kizer; and one son, Arthur Barnes.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 29, 1976, at Berry Funeral Home in Auburn. Burial followed at Auburn Cemetery in Auburn.
