Son of William & Martha Lane Hillman.
The Quincy Daily Journal - March 27, 1896
Our community is again saddened by the death of one of the oldest residents of our place, William Hillman, aged 85 years, who died at his home in this place on Monday night, after only a few days' illness of congestion of the lungs. The deceased had been a resident of this place for forty five years, and was also the father of six sons who at the funeral service acted as pall-bearers. The funeral services were held in the Congregational Church in this place and were conducted by Rev. P. Hurless, who made some very appropriate and comforting remarks to the wife, sons, relatives and friends who filled the large church. The floral emblems were beautiful and appropriate. The remains were laid to rest in the Prairie Mound Cemetery beside those of his three children gone before.
